Chapter Two
Ser Caelan Veyr, the Oathbound
A knight bound by his own word to a liege he can neither save nor destroy. Meet the last sworn sword of Veyrhold.

The Last Sworn Sword
of the Broken Sun
They called him Caelan once, before the oath. Now he wears the name like an old wound: Ser Caelan Veyr, last knight of Veyrhold, keeper of a crown no head can carry.
His armor is black plate, gold-veined and ember-cracked from the fires of the Coronation. His sword, The Sundered Vow, was forged from the shattered pieces of his liege’s diadem and a length of his own bone.
He swore an oath at the foot of a dying god. He has kept it for a thousand years. The Liege Beneath still breathes. And so, so does he.
Vow
The Last Oath of Veyrhold
Sworn at the breaking of the crown. Cannot be reclaimed. Cannot be refused.
Relic
The Mourning Sigil
A coronet of dim gold, once worn by a queen who is no longer named.
Sin
He spared the Liege.
When he could have ended it. When the realm begged him to.
Burden
Every life he saves becomes another chain.
The kingdom grows heavier each dawn he wakes still bound to it.
